Brainstorming....

It’s no secret that I would not work if I had the choice. I think one way to ease the pain would be if I could find a way to work from home... In reality, it would be very easy to do my current job from home.

They could even get me an IP phone set up at home and I would still be able to answer and transfer calls just like if I were sitting at my desk. I would go in once a week to pick up and drop off stuff, get things signed, etc. Then back to my house. But because that is not even in the realm of “remote possibilities,” I have been brainstorming about something else that could be more fun.

So here are my ideas of things that would enable me to make some money by working from home....

1. Hired Assassin:
How easy would that be? I just wait for a file to show up with a picture and a location, the money gets deposited in my Swiss Bank Account... Bing, bang, boom - Millionaire.

And no way would I be one of those messy “hands-on” type assassins. No, thank you. I’ll take a nice high-powered sniper rifle any day. I already know that I am extremely accurate with a rifle, so all I would really have to learn is to compensate for distance and wind-speed and all that nonsense.

I already own a lot of black clothing, so wardrobe isn’t an issue...

Oh... And of course I would only kill bad people. Like Dexter!

2. Twitter-er:
You pay me to tweet for you. We all know how tiring it is to sit there and constantly update the world with your every move... I’ll do it for you! And your life will become as exciting as my imagination can make it.

Example 1:
“So-and-so” is taking their first steps on the moon....

Bam. You’re an astronaut now. Take that, everyone that ever doubted you!

Example 2:
“So-and-so” just kicked Bobby Flay’s butt in a cook-off!

How awesome are you? And cooking skills are TOTALLY not required.

You would be more than welcome to steer me in any direction that you would prefer your awesomeness to go... Don’t be afraid to reach for the stars.

3. Editor:
Ok, so this one actually sounds like a serious job... And it actually is something that (as someone that LOVES to read) I would be interested in. But really, right now, I’m not talking about being a serious editor. I don’t want to do the hard part of “you need to cut 5,000 words out of this manuscript.” I’m talking about curling up and reading while making spelling and grammar corrections using my pretty pink (not red - red is so elementary school spelling test) pen. It’s the same one I use to correct letters for one of the managers that I work with currently... It just seems less harsh to me...

4. Launderer:
I would totally lounge on my couch and do your laundry... I don’t do “hand-washables” that can’t go in the “hand washable cycle” on the washing machine. And I don’t iron or fold underwear. I do, however, pair up socks. You bring it by and when you come back to pick it up, it will be fresh, neatly folded, and smell like a sunny spring day... (Or whatever smell is on sale.... I’m not wasting my more expensive free and clear, hypoallergenic stuff on you... Unless you pay for it...) I’ll even make sure my cats don’t lay on it...

5. Letter Folder:
But NOT envelope licker. Gross.

I am lightning quick at folding letters. But I only do one kind of fold, so it had better be the style you are ok with...

6. Product Tester:
I am thinking products along the lines of pajamas, pillows, blankets... Maybe video games.... That kind of stuff.

7. Content Approver:
Your kids want to watch a movie, but you don’t know if it’s ok for them? And you don’t have time to check it out yourself? I’ll watch it and let you know... You tell me what are “deal-breakers” and I’ll tell you if there are any. Hey, I’ll do this for adults too... Wondering if a certain movie is good for a date night? I’ll watch and let you know...

That’s all I can think of for now... Seems like a good list to start from......

The One Wherein I Give Myself Good Advice.....

Try a bazillion times...

Then try a bazillion more.

Never give up.

Even if it's something stupid or silly - something that doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things...

Go for it anyway.

If it will make you happy - even for just a moment - it is worth it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I found that scribbled in one of my many notebooks that I leave around to write reminders in... I don't know what was going on at the time or what it was in reference to, but I like it. I think I'm gonna try to remember that more....
10 Reasons Why I Could Never Be Friends with Alexander Skarsgard:
1. Because... well... he looks like this without a shirt on:
 Photo from here.
And drool is so not a good look for me.
2. Because he was Meekus in Zoolander and I would make him crazy trying to get him to keep doing the voice and the “Earth To” jokes...
3. Because when I wasn’t trying to make him do the Meekus voice, I would be trying to make him talk like Eric.
4. I would probably keep calling him “Eric” and it would make him crazy...
5. My husband probably wouldn’t like it much...
6. We wouldn’t be able to hang out anywhere without being mobbed by fans...
7. Because even though I live in Southern California, I very rarely have any celebrity encounters... Especially not ones that would lead to becoming friends with the celebrity...
8. Because the paparazzi would probably start rumors that I was carrying his love-child or something and my husband really wouldn’t appreciate that...
9. Because knowing him in real life could potentially ruin the magic of watching him in movies and on True Blood...
10. Because, while he seems to be fairly intelligent, I would be so disappointed if he turned out to be just a pretty face... and arms, chest, abs.....
And, really, none of these things would stop me from befriending Alexander Skarsgard... So, Alex, my potential-future-best-friend... If you are reading this... Call me! I’ll bring the “BFF” necklaces... Do you prefer the “Be Fri” side or the “st ends” side?
Randoms...
So I am really trying to get back into posting regularly and have been having no luck so far... But as a way to try to get myself moving again, I have made a couple small changes around here. One is my official "About Me" page that you can get to by clicking on the link at the top... Here you will find a list of factoids about me... A long list. I can't remember why I started it, but once I did - I couldn't stop... I updated it so that it would be more accurate to me today. If you took the time to read it, you would know more about me than you ever need to... :-)
The other change is my 2011 Books tab. I love to read and I love my Kindle. I go through phases where I don't really read very much, but I am trying to get back into that as well. Right now I have been re-reading the Sookie Stackhouse books that True Blood is based on. Complete brain candy, but they are quick, easy reads and I enjoy them. You can check their randomly throughout the year to see what's new. I'm really curious to see how many books I can read in a year... I've never kept track before.
Now onto the randomness....
J is on call (seems like he ALWAYS is...) and got called to a job. Yuck. He was able to talk the back-up guy into coming to help, so hopefully he won't have to be there all night. Poor guy.
I am REALLY looking forward to my long weekend this weekend. I realize that I just had a week off for the holidays, but any time not at work makes me happy.
I sometimes wish that I had a crap load of money so that I could actually punch people in the mouth when they make me angry... That way I wouldn't have any worries about them suing me... hahaha (I swear I'm not violent... Some people just deserve a smack in the mouth)
I love my new pillow that J got me for Christmas. It's an "Arm Sleeper Pillow" and basically has a tunnel to put your arm through so that you don't put so much pressure on your arm. My elbow on the side I sleep on most had been bothering me and the pillow really seems to be helping.
I've been sleeping terribly lately (not related to the pillow - I think work stress...) - having a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep. Last week I slept through the alarm almost every day - not a usual thing for me, but I had gotten so used to being able to roll over and go back to sleep after J got up for work while I was off for the holidays that I just wasn't hearing it.
Now this week, I've been having weird half-awake "dreams" that I fully wake up half-way through and have no idea why I needed to do whatever it was I was doing. One night I fully woke up half-way through letting my hair down and re-doing my pony tail. (I always have my hair in either a pony tail or a braid when I sleep unless it's wet.) The next night I woke up half-way through taking off my elbow brace that I've been wearing to sleep to help my elbow feel better (I stopped wearing it for a while when I first got the pillow, so I know the pillow is definitely helping, but then I hyper-extended my elbow a little and needed the extra support). I don't know why I felt that I absolutely had to do those things... Apparently my brain does weird things while I sleep sometimes...
Well... that's all for now... I'm going to try to go to sleep. I'm hoping that I will be able to get my brain to shut down, but I'm afraid I'll lay there wondering when J will get home.
Have a good night! :-)
